Eyes

Eyes are the most beautiful organ of human body and each one of us are gifted with an unique pair.

But are we taking care of them ? Are they taken for granted. Answers to these questions are alarmimg as we are geniunely not taking care.

Constant use of phone has an increase bad impact on eyes

But just like computers, mobile phone screens can present an opportunity for eye strain. We use our phones in place of pen and paper for virtually everything we do. How do phones affect your eyes? Eye strain from phone use is much the same as computer eye strain symptoms.

Blue light also comes from sunlight, which we’re all aware is bad for our eyes. We even wear sunglasses to help shield our eyes from it. So we should be doing the same with our screens? Blue light is particularly toxic as it has shorter wave length than other colours of light. It meaning it has more energy. Blue light also prevents your body from releasing melatonin, the chemical your body needs to feel sleepy. As blue light also comes from the sun, it tricks our brains into believing it’s still day time. Making it more difficult to sleep. Using your screen when in dark surroundings can actually exacerbate its effects. Therefore apple introduced “night shift” featuring a more yellow-toned screen, and Samsung to offer a “blue light filter”.

CVC:

CVS occurs after looking at screens for more than two hours a time. But if we consider the number of people working in office- or computer-based jobs, it will become clear how big the problem of CVS is.

Research has been conducted to learn to minimise the effect of CVS. A minimum of an arm’s distance has to be kept for comfort of eyes. And increase the font size to reduce eye strain. Eye experts also place importance on the “20-20-20″. Every 20 minutes, look at an object 20 feet away, and focus your eyes on it for 20 seconds. This relieves our eyes from the brightness of our screen

Conclusion:

Ultimately, we don’t know the long-term effects of exposure to screens for almost every waking minute of the day. We can, however, tackle the short term impacts. If we sit up a bit straighter, blink more often, and practice focusing eyes on varied distances, we’er already doing more than most to preserve our sight in this digital age.
